On the heels of a strong showing at the 2018 Pyeonchang Olympic Games, Big White's Tess Critchlow took the top spot at the 2018 Speed Nation SBX Nationals Thursday.
Critchlow has been snowboarding at Big White since she was just five years old, and made her Olympic debut in South Korea last month, placing ninth in the women's snowboard cross, the highest placed Canadian.
On Thursday, Critchlow competed on home turf, at Big White's Telus Park, placing first at the snowboard cross nationals.
Along with bragging rights, Critchlow took home a cool $1,000 for the victory.
Speed Nation SBX events have been held across Canada throughout the season, with competitors amassing points at every event.
After three events, the finals were held at Big White this year, and Critchlow topped the podium in the NorAm division.
