UPDATE 8:15 a.m.

Highway 23 now has a single lane open at Mica Dam to 4 km south of Mica Dam Hill. Crews have been working to clear avalanche debris.

Next update is expected at 10:30 am.

ORIGINAL 7:30 a.m.

Highway 23 is closed in both directions this morning, north of Golden towards the B.C. Alberta border, near the Mica Dam to 4 km south of Mica Dam Hill because of avalanche debris removal.

There is no estimated time of opening, crews are still assessing the situation.
