Night shift on 300 block

Construction workers at the Wade Avenue and Main Street intersection of the 300 block upgrade project will soon begin working on night shifts.

Starting Sunday, March 25, all work will take place between the hours of 7 p.m. and 7 a.m.

There will be no work done March 30, then it will continue through April 5.

According to the Downtown Penticton Association, the work will be noisy and dusty, and there will be limited vehicle access from Padmore to Wade Avenue.

Main Street will have open access at Wade Avenue only in one direction, which will change from east to west depending on where workers are active.

Buses will run through the Wade and Main intersection up to 10:30 p.m. People are asked not to park on the 400 block after 6 p.m.

The DPA said the night work will help complete the project, as well as alleviating inconvenience to businesses in the area by doing the disruptive work outside of normal business hours.

They also thanked the public for their patience and understanding, and those with questions can contact the DPA at 250-490-8540.
