Suspect's messy history

UPDATE: 3 p.m.

One of the suspects wanted on a Canada-wide warrant out of Ontario for a vicious beating of an autistic man has a messy history in Kelowna.

Ronjot Dhami, 25, and Parmvir Chahil, 21, were identified Wednesday as suspects in the violent assault in the Square One bus terminal in Mississauga on the evening of March 13.

Just over a year ago, Dhami had his Kelowna drug charges dropped after a judge ruled that the 53 bags of heroin, crack-cocaine and fentanyl he had hidden in his rectum when he was arrested in 2014 could not be used as evidence against him.

Dhami was pulled over by police in June 2014 after police suspected him of drug trafficking. The officer noticed him reaching into his glovebox before the stop, and then saw a small glob of lotion on his chin.

The officer recognized this as evidence he had been hiding drugs in a less-than-ideal place, and arrested him.

After spending the night in a cell, Dhami was found in his cell crouching over a drain, trying to push small feces-covered bags down it.

Despite the officer's hunch being correct, a judge found the arrest and detainment were unlawful, and the charges against him were dropped.

Police continue to search for Dhami and Chahil.

One day after a shocking video of three men beating an autistic man in Mississauga went viral online, two of the suspects have now been identified.

Investigators from the 12 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau in the Peel region have identified the second man in the incident.

As a result of overwhelming tips from the community, investigators have identified the first suspect as Ronjot Singh Dhami, a 25-year-old man with no fixed address. His last known address was in Surrey.

Police have now identified the second suspect as Parmvir 'Parm' Singh Chahil, a 21-year-old man with no fixed address.

On March 13, 2018, at approximately 10:45 p.m., Peel Regional Police responded to a violent assault that occurred in the Square One bus terminal located at 200 Rathburn Road West in Mississauga.

A Canada-wide arrest warrant for Parmvir 'Parm' Singh Chahil and Ronjot Singh Dhami has been issued and they are both wanted for one count of aggravated assault.

Parmvir 'Parm' Singh Chahil and Ronjot Singh Dhami are encouraged to surrender to police.

The third man involved in this incident has not yet been positively identified, but may go by the first name of Jason.

Anyone who sees Chahil Dhami is asked to call police immediately. Do not approach them, as they are extremely dangerous.
