Mattiussi won't miss Tues.

The swan-songs for outgoing city manager Ron Mattiussi have begun.

Mattiussi, who will officially step down after 13 years on the job at the end of the month, presided over his final public hearing Tuesday night.

As a parting gift to Mattiussi, the final public hearing lasted about 45 minutes.

"I can honestly say as much as I'll miss the people, I won't miss one more minute in a public hearing," Mattiussi said following the meeting.

During his 23 years with the city, his first two as planning director, Mattiussi figures he has spent, all told, about 31 complete work weeks at public hearings.

About 484 meetings, plus or minus, he said.

Deputy city manager Joe Creron will assume Mattiussi's role April 1 as the city looks for a permanent replacement.

Creron is on record as saying he is not interested in the job full-time.
