Fest of Ale tickets going fast

For the 23rd straight year, patrons will be toasting craft beer from BC and beyond at the Okanagan Fest of Ale.

On April 13 and 14, over 175 craft beers, cask ales and artisanal ciders from 69 craft breweries will be features at the Penticton Trade and Convention centre.

Of those participating, 10 are new to the event, 5 will be featuring craft ciders and many will offer new seasonal releases and beers created specifically for the event.

There will also be Fest of Ale speciality dishes available both at the centre and at restaurants around town — after all, it will be Okanagan Beer Week.

Examples of craft-themed events around the city include a beer-paired dinner at The Nest & Nectar with beers from Tin Whistle Brewery; "The History of Beer...in 59 minutes!" which is an educational talk from Joe Wiebe, also known as "The Thirsty Writer," at Bad Tattoo Brewing; “Lethal Injection: Murderers Row Cask Event” at the Kettle Valley Station Pub; and the “Hair of the Dog” buffet brunch at the Barking Parrot.

To celebrate the end of the festivities on Sunday evening there will be free live music at Cannery Brewing with singer Maiya Robbie.

With a month to go before the big event, organizers say that ticket sales have exceeded expectations, and are urging anyone planning to attend to get their tickets soon.

They can be purchased online here or at the Valley First Box Office at the SOEC. Single day admission is $29, or $49 for a weekend pass.
