Market runs all year

It may be cold and snowy outside, but that is not enough to stop the Vernon Farmers Market from setting up.

Every Friday from noon to 4 p.m., up to 30 venders sell their wares in Kal Tire Place.

Ingrid Baron, farmers market president, said people can find everything from apples to jewellery to fresh micro-greens.

“We have a little bit of everything,” said Baron.

Most of the produce is storage crops from last summer, except for the greens which are grown fresh.

Baron said communities throughout the Okanagan hold winter markets if they have the space to do so.

The summer farmers market will start up April 19 in the Kal Tire Place parking lot.
