Harmony Day unites all

Madison Erhardt

Central Okanagan Public Schools continue to embrace kindness and diversity with the 11th Annual Harmony Day.

Black Mountain Elementary welcomed guests at the front door with passports to tour the school and learn about their seven habits.

"All of the spaces in the entire school opened up for the community to come in and see some of the kids' work that is about character education," said Vice Principal, Adrian Zuyderduyn.

"It's the idea of health mindsets for growth," Zuyderduyn added.

The different grade levels featured a number of various activities including painting, learning how to juggle, and sitting and listening to fellow classmates' ideas and experiences.

"These activities in the classrooms involve different character attributes to get the students thinking about how they live their lives," Zuyderduyn said.

Schools across the Okanagan are participating in Harmony Day.
