Don't worry, it's just a drill

The public in Chilliwack don't need to be alarmed if they see police and security at Sardis Secondary School on Saturday —  it's a training exercise.

Chilliwack RCMP will be training emergency first responders the morning of Feb. 24 on the 45000 block of Stevenson Road.

The exercise aims to allow first responders to learn and practise team skills, so that should a real emergency occur, they will be ready.

"The property of Sardis Senior Secondary School will be cordoned off by police for security and safety reasons during the exercise. The City of Chilliwack recreational area behind the school will remain accessible to the public from South Sumas Road,” said spokesman Cpl. Mike Rail.
