Two shots-fired incidents

Police in Keremeos are searching for a suspect after two shooting incidents in the village on the weekend.

In the first incident, RCMP responded to the 800 block of 3rd Avenue when a single bullet was fired through the living room window of a home.

Cst. Brian Evans said several people were inside when the shooting happened, and noted it was fortunate that nobody was hurt.

After responding to that incident, officers noticed a single bullet hole through a police cruiser that belongs to the Keremeos detachment.

"Again, there were no injuries, as the police car was parked and unoccupied at the Keremeos detachment when this incident occurred," Evans said.

Both shootings occurred around 11 p.m. on Friday night. Evans said it's believed both incidents are directly related.

The two incidents reportedly may have been targeted.

Anyone with information is asked to call Keremeos RCMP at 250-499-5511 or CrimeStoppers if they wish to remain anonymous.
