Snow cancels several flights

Poor visibility caused most flights in and out of Penticton Regional Airport to be grounded on Saturday.

Air Canada cancelled its 6 a.m. and 10:05 a.m. flights from Penticton to Vancouver, as well as its 8:50 a.m. departure from Vancouver to Penticton.

The remaining arrival and departure flights remain listed as on time.

WestJet also cancelled its 2:41 p.m. arrival to Penticton from Calgary. Its 3:15 departure from Penticton went about 45 minutes late.

According to Environment Canada, two to four centimetres of snow are predicted to fall in Penticton on Saturday night, and wind gusts up to 50 kilometres per hour could cause blowing snow.
