Avalanche control on Highway 1.

The planned closure of Highway 1, west of Revelstoke, is over, following avalanche control efforts near Three Valley Gap. 

ORIGINAL: 9:40 a.m.

Highway 1 is closed west of Revelstoke Saturday morning, as crews work to mitigate the avalanche risk in the area. 

The closure, seven kilometres west of Revelstoke to 26 km west of Revelstoke, is expected to last until 11 a.m.

Snow and wind is forecast throughout the day in the area. 

Avalanche risk closed the highway last week, both to the west and east of Revelstoke.
