Porta-potties lit on fire

Police in Vancouver are investigating several cases of porta-potties being set on fire intentionally in the city's downtown.

Seven of the portable restrooms were torched between Dec. 8 and Jan. 19, according to the Vancouver Police Department.

All of the arsons occurred during late-night or early-morning hours, and adjacent buildings have reportedly caught on fire as well in some cases.

Police are now asking property owners with porta-potties set up to take precautions during overnight hours, which include moving them away from structures, locking them and removing toilet paper and hand sanitizer.

No one has been hurt in any of the arsons.
