Human remains were found Jan. 14 in a car similar to this one.

The identity of the remains found in a burnt out car in Trail on Sunday, Jan. 14 has been confirmed by the Southeast District Major Crime Unit.

A forensic investigation of the 1999 Honda Civic four-door, found ablaze and abandoned on Highway 22, revealed that the body located in the trunk was that of 38-year-old Jordan Workman from Castlegar, B.C.

B.C. RCMP investigators working with the Coroners Service of British Columbia determined Workman's death to be a homicide.

"The current findings indicate that this incident involves a targeted victim and does not reflect any increased safety risks to the public," said Cpl. Dan Moskaluk.
