Graffiti blankets downtown

The City of Penticton says nearly $30,000 in damage has been caused by graffiti vandals recently.

Between Jan. 12 and 17, several “CEVER” and “BTK” markings were reported downtown Penticton.

“As a result of this act of vandalism, the graffiti appeared on over 30 different properties,” bylaw services manager Tina Seibert said. “The City has reported this graffitti to the RCMP for investigation and we are looking for any witnesses or video surveillance related to either of these incidents.”

Much of the  graffiti has since been removed through the partnership with the Downtown Penticton Association and Pure Pressure/Remove My Graffiti.

Anyone with information on who might be behind these recent acts of vandalism is asked to contact the Penticton RCMP or city’s bylaw services.
