Naude off to 1st Olympics

Penticton freestyle skier Andi Naude is heading to her first Olympic games.

The 22-year-old was named to the freestyle skiing team Monday morning in Montreal.

Naude is currently second in World Cup points with two third place finishes and a second at the most recent event in Tremblant, Que.

She finished third at a test event on the Olympic course in PyeongChang, South Korea a year ago.

The freestyle team named Monday includes 22 athletes, 12 men and 10 women. A dozen are returning from the 2014 games in Sochi, Russia.

The team competes in moguls, aerials, halfpipe and slopestyle.

Kelowna's Kelsey Serwa is expected to be named to the women's ski cross team for the Olympics later today.

The PyeongChang games begin Feb. 9.
