It's a messy start to the day on highways in and out of the Okanagan.

The northbound lanes of Highway 5 near Merritt are closed due to a rock-slide.

To make matters worse, a heavy snowfall warning remains in effect for the Coquihalla Highway this morning, with another 5 cm expected to fall — the Coquihalla and the connector received a dump of snow overnight.

An incident on Highway 1 near Lytton closed down both lanes, but as of 6:30 a.m. a single alternating lane is now open.

And, avalanche control will cause 2 to 3-hour delays, all day today, through the Roger's Pass from 7 a.m. to 3:00 this afternoon.
