Summerland's non-profit animal sanctuary Critteraid is seeking more volunteers to run their local charity shop.

The store, located on Victoria Road in Summerland, is currently open Tuesday to Saturday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., but Critteraid's animal director Jess Byer hopes more volunteers could extend those hours. 

"It would be nice to find more store staff so we could open up another day of the week," Byer said. "And more money for the animals."

Byer also said 100 per cent of the proceeds from the charity shop go toward the animals on Critteraid's farm.
