Fentanyl, cocaine seized

Vernon RCMP have disconnected a dial-a-dope operation that was allegedly selling hard drugs.

Police executed a search warrant Jan. 17, leading to five arrests and the seizure of an estimated $7,000 worth of drugs, including fentanyl.

Const. Kelly Brett said police completed an investigation into a drug trafficking group and raided a house on Southwind Road, in the Bella Vista area of Vernon.

“The group was allegedly operating a dial-a-dope drug trafficking network, supplying illicit drugs which were operating 24 hours a day in the Vernon area,” said Brett.

Police rounded up four men and one woman, ranging in age from 20-23 years old.

Brett said the search warrant resulted in a seizure of cocaine, heroin and fentanyl which were packaged for street-level distribution, along with cash and other items related to drug trafficking.

“This investigation is a great example of our commitment to investigating persons responsible for trafficking drugs, including fentanyl in our community,” said Sgt. David Evans of the Vernon North Okanagan Targeted Policing Unit.
All five suspects have been released from custody and are facing charges of possession of cocaine, heroin and fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking.

Anyone with information about illegal activity in the Vernon North Okanagan area is asked to contact Vernon RCMP at 250-545-7171.
