UPDATE 11:11 a.m.

Looks like the sun has burned through the cloud cover we've had for the last week or so. Not only does it make for a brighter day it has also made driving conditions much better.

DriveBC has now lifted the travel advisory for Highway 5 in both directions from Merritt to Hope and from Merritt to Kamloops.

ORIGINAL 9:05 a.m.

Drivers be warned – treacherous conditions are reported on both the Coquihalla and Okanagan Connector this morning.

DriveBC reports Highway 5 and Highway 97C have black ice and extremely slippery sections.

Travellers are asked to exercise caution. A travel advisory is in effect.
