Clara Forman’s family has been reeling with the death of the 33-year-old Kelowna woman — a beloved sister, daughter and devoted mother.

Clara and her two daughters were found dead inside their Rutland home on Bolotzky Court on Dec. 19, 2017.

Jacob Daniel Forman, 34, was arrested at the home and charged with three counts of second-degree murder for the death of his wife and two daughters.

He made his first court appearance at the Kelowna Law Courts on Dec. 21, 2017, wearing a grey sweatsuit and appeared stoic.

Forman will make his second court appearance Thursday at 9:30 a.m.

Relatives said Clara’s biggest joy in life was being a mother to the two young girls. Karina Ann, 8, and Yesenia Kate, 7, were distributed-learning students at Heritage Christian Online School.

The three are believed to have been killed between December 17 and 19.

April Marie Carlson, Clara’s sister, said the girls were very loved.

“While my family and I are trying to come to grips and move forward we are grateful for so much support and care,” she said. “People that loved my sister and my nieces have reached out and shown us such amazing hearts.”

The family said they are comforted in knowing how loved Clara and the two girls were and still are.

Clara moved to Canada almost 10 years ago after meeting Jacob when he was learning to become a preacher in Mexico. The pair moved back to British Columbia after marrying.

“I'm very proud of my sister and how she made a strong and loving home for her babies,” Carlson said.

An outpouring of messages and condolence have been shared about Forman since her death; many describe her as a caring fitness instructor, patient, loving, and with a quirky sense of humour.

"This is all very hard and I'm sure there is more ahead, but we'll all see each other through,” Carlson said.
