Armed robbery downtown

Police are asking for the public's help to locate the suspect of an attempted armed robbery at a business in downtown Penticton on Tuesday night. 

Penticton RCMP were called to the incident at Mike's Pawn Brokers at 333 Main Street at 5:50 p.m.

Police were told a male had entered the store and was brandishing what was believed to be a small handgun. He demanded cash but fled empty-handed.

The suspect then ran northbound on Main Street after the incident. Officers scoured the area but were unable to locate him. 

Police described the suspect as caucasian, six feet tall and 170 pounds. When the incident occurred he was wearing a blue TaylorMade hat, sunglasses, a fake beard, black-and-white gloves, a grey zip-up hoodie, black track pants and white running shoes.
