UPDATE 11:30 a.m.
RCMP are now investigating what they are calling a suspicious fire this morning at a quarry near Stewart Road.
Kelowna Fire responded to a 911 call reporting a large trailer fire in the 4800 Block of Stewart Rd West.
When they arrived on scene at approximately 7:20 a.m. the semi-trailer was fully involved.
Firefighters extinguished the fire using 1 engine and a Water Tender.
The trailer was completely destroyed in the fire as well as a UTV that was found at the scene.
The trailer housed the power plant for a rock crusher on the property and the UTV had no connection to the Gravel Pit.
UPDATE 10:22 a.m.
Fire crews appear to have a fire at a quarry near Stewart Road under control after a blaze broke out early Thursday morning. RCMP and Hazmat crews also responded after a semi tractor-trailer caught fire sending black smoke billowing into the skies above the quarry.
UPDATE 8:25 a.m.
RCMP and Hazmat now on scene of a fire, possibly a vehicle or trailer burning near a quarry by Stewart Road.
Crews still on scene. Plumes of smoke can be seen in the skies above the area.

Getting reports of a trailer fire at 4820 Stewart Road in south Kelowna.
Fire crews responded to the call at around 7:40 a.m. Thursday morning.
RCMP are also on scene at this hour.
