Christmas lights stolen

Madison Erhardt

A family in West Kelowna woke up to a troubling sight on the weekend when they found out their Christmas lights had been stolen.

The thefts happened on Thursday evening around 7 p.m. the family was not home at the time. "When we came home we saw one of our lazer lights was ripped off the ground," said Home Owner, Guido Gonschorek.

"Thankfully we have security cameras so we were able to see what happened. You can see the young lady with a hoodie and a big print. It's remarkable," Gonschorek added.

The family isn't too worried about the lights, but they want to see something done.

"It so sad. It breaks the spirit of Christmas and you don't get it out of your head. I just don't want this person to get away with it," he said.

The family says they plan on putting out new lights.

RCMP have been contacted and are looking into the situation.
