The federal Liberals may be working on legalization, but for now marijuana remains against the law – especially if you're growing almost 4,000 plants.

RCMP in Chilliwack shut down a huge grow-op after a tip to police requesting assistance at a property on the 4600 block of Sweltzer Creek Road.  

Responding officers noted mechanical noises and suspicious structures, and on Nov. 16 police raided the property.

“Three men were taken into custody, and 3,800 marijuana plants were seized," said Cpl. Mike Rail.

The suspects were later released, and potential charges are being assessed.
