Bad day on the job

Madison Erhardt

It's a cameraman's worst nightmare.

The Weather Channel set up what seemed like the perfect spot to get the best view of the demolition of the Georgia Dome, which had been the home to the Atlanta Falcons for 25 years, but something went very wrong.

James Crugnale, an editor with the Weather Channel, live-streamed the crowd gathering for the big boom for 40 minutes.

A man in the crowd counted down to the implosion on a loud speaker.

But suddenly a public bus drove up in front of the camera, just as the dome came crashing down.

“No bus, get out of the way,” Crugnale yelled. “Bus!”

Only after the implosion was finished did the bus drive off.

Crugnale was left shaking his head. He completely missed the demolition.
