Thieves made off with cash from a coin machine at Skogies Car Wash in Kelowna last week.
The break-in happened in the early hours of Nov. 13.
Owners of the car wash on Underhill Street say surveillance footage shows a man climbed onto the roof of the mechanical room inside the self-serve bay the day before, but was apparently spooked and ran away.
A man was caught on tape the morning of the 13th again accessing the roof of the machine room, chopping a hole in the roof, and dropping inside the room.
The thief then pried open the change machine and stole the money inside. At the same time, he destroyed the change machine, valued at $30,000.
