RDOS needs your input

The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen is looking to hear more input this month from residents in electoral area F about updating the official community plan in that area.

A online survey is now open to residents in West Bench, Sage Mesa, Faulder, Meadow Valley and North Beach, until Nov. 27.

The community survey asks residents what they think issues and opportunities are in their neighbourhoods, and what their vision is for electoral area F.

A similar survey was conducted from Jun. 11 to Jul. 11 earlier this year, where the RDOS received about 98 responses. Two separate open houses also attracted a total of about 125 people.

The entire population of the electoral area is just over 2,000 people.

In the small sample size, the concerns heard the most from residents were related to water supply and quality, residential properties used for home-industry, as well as sanitary sewer service in the West Bench area.

Michael Brydon, RDOS director for electoral area F, said he encourages all residents to participate.

“The OCP is one of our most important local planning documents, not only does it establish policies around development and land use, it will also give direction to other plans, including capital plans, transportation strategies and the like," he said.

The survey can be viewed here.
