Halloween haunted house

A haunted house on Grenfell Road in Kelowna is back this year, and promises to be even scarier.

The 945 Grenfelll Rd. display is bigger this year, after raising more than $400 in cash and collecting 400 pounds of food for the Kelowna Community Food Bank.

Homeowner Paul Coxe says about 800 people visited the display in the span of just three days last year.

"I can't give away all my secrets, but you aren't going to want to miss this. I have added a number of new elements, Coxe said.

Coxe has invested in more Halloween items this year in hopes he will be able to raise more money and food for the food bank.

Seven local companies have also supported the endeavour.

Coxe also said that he has made sure it is a family friendly event.

"For the younger kids that are a little hesitant they will be given a glow stick and a safety word to say if they have had enough."

The haunted house will be open from 6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 27 to 31, but will be closed on Oct. 30.
