Police seek video of vehicle

Kelowna RCMP are looking for the public's assistance in tracking the movements of Russia Nicholson in the days prior to her death.

Nicholson, 23, from West Kelowna, was found murdered in an orchard on Cooper Road last Wednesday.

Police are now looking for any business or private surveillance video of her vehicle between 1 a.m. and 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 11.

The vehicle is a four-door, 2010 white Ford Fusion.

"Business and area residents in the vicinity of both the 2100 block of Cooper Road, where the victim's body was discovered, and the 1300 block of Collison Road, where the victim's vehicle was recovered, are encouraged to review their video surveillance footage for any images that show Russia's vehicle," said Cpl. Jesse O'Donaghey.

Photos of the vehicle show distinguishing damage to the front bumper and driver's side rear passenger window.

Police remind the public it's believed the murder of Nicholson was not a random attack, that she likely knew her attacker.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Const. Nicole Shuttleworth of the Kelowna RCMP Serious Crimes Unit at 250-470-6395.
