Wrestling for charity

Madison Erhardt

One of the Okanagan's most unique sporting events gave back to the community, Monday.

Invasion Championship Wrestling donated more than $10,000 to four local charities: the Central Okanagan Boys and Girls Club, North Okanagan Neurological Association, YMCA Strong Kids and Mamas For Mamas.

"We do these cheque presentations before every show, and it is a time to promote not only what is happening this weekend, but also to show what has happened in the past," said spokesman Mike Chisholm.

Invasion's charity pro wrestling events continue this weekend with action at Rutland Centennial Hall and the Vernon Recreation Centre.

WWF hall of famer Ted Dibiase, "the million dollar man," will be guest of honour, along with UFC bantam weight star Sarah "Cheesecake" Moras.
