The screen from a broken TV may have been the start of today's Caesar's Landing fire according to Kelowna resident Cody Schofield.
In an interview with Castanet's Kelly Hayes, Cody says he saw flames moving away from an old TV set in the brush.
Cody says that as a kid, he used broken TV glass as a magnifying glass. He thinks the glass from the set magnified the sun's rays and started the fire spontaneously in the dry brush.
After calling the fire department Cody went back to the scene to discover that the fire was five to six times larger than when he left.
He fought the fire with shovels until fire crews arrived.
