Drug bust in parking lot

Two people are facing trafficking charges after being arrested in the Penticton Walmart parking lot on Wednesday.

Cpl. Don Wrigglesworth said the Targeted Enforcement Unit was conducting surveillance in the lot on Sept. 20 around 4 p.m.

A male and female — both well known to police — were acting suspicious and arrested.

Elkena Knauff, 32, faces three charges of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and breach of probation.

Cheryl Aeichele, 39, also faces three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of stolen property.

The pair were found with a quantity of cocaine, methamphetamine and heroin, according to Wrigglesworth.
