Getting into Halloween

Alanna Kelly

The Halloween season is just around the corner, and ghouls and goblins young and old are starting to ponder what costumes to wear this year.

Halloween Alley, in Kelowna's Capri Mall, opens for the season on Tuesday.

Dealer Deb Lawless says creepy clowns are popular again, especially with the release of the Stephen King Movie "It."

“For little kids, we have the PJ Masks and PAW Patrol, No. 1 hits, for sure," she said. "For girls, we have Descendants 2 and the princesses.

“Lego still wins for the young boys, and as we get a bit older they love inflatables, Guardians of the Galaxy as well as Five Nights at Freddy’s,”

Making a comeback from the last year, is the clown costume. “Everybody still wants to be a clown,” she said.

This year, Halloween Alley has paired up with the Kelowna Women’s Shelter and is collecting gently used costumes.

“Hopefully, people will ... donate them out so every child will have a costume for Halloween,” said Lawless.
