Massive mystery in yard

It appears to be a mystery how exactly the massive sunflower plant ended up in their North Glenmore backyard.

“We have no idea where the plant came from,” said Wendy Smoliak. “It started as a small seedling so we waited to see what it would become.”

Smoliak said the flowers are still growing at gramma and grampa’s house and they think a bird might have brought the seed.

Due to the height of the flower, it has gained the name ‘Jack’ as it is now the size of a tree.

“It is so tall my dad had to use rope to tie it to the house so it would not fall over,” said Smoliak.
