Step up, local youth

A local social enterprise company has challenged the city’s youth to step up and become changemakers in their community.

Volinspire, a volunteer-based social media platform that started in Kelowna, put out the call to action, and is backing its challenge with cold, hard cash.

With its #WEareKelowna photo contest, the company is asking young people to share their stories of giving back to the community.

“Our whole purpose and goal is to continue to engage youth,” explains Volinspire’s Jeff Hoffart.

“[We want youth] to be able to connect with the community, get involved, share their stories and inspire each other, and really just do some good in the community.”

For more on the motivation behind the contest, including how to enter, check out the full story on Castanet's sister business news website Okanagan Edge.
