I have had many conversations over the years in regards to what our downtown core needs and what should happen with this space. I live on Lawrence and have lived all over the world and our city is desperate for community interaction.
A market like Lonsdale Quay which brings vendors, flower shops, musicians and local cafes, restaurants, brewers together would bring more people to the downtown core. We need more people travelling downtown especially in the cooler months to keep businesses open when tourism is at a low.
Kelowna also desperately needs an actual art museum that doesn't only consist of Aboriginal and Local Art, but first things first I suppose.
I wish our city council would take "field trip" to Vancouver and put money into the culture of our community and not approve all downtown spaces for residential, banks, law firms etc.
