Lifts to run 5 days a week

Baldy Mountain Ski Resort near Oliver will be open for business five days a week this coming winter.

Last year’s relaunch season was the first in many that saw the resort open seven days a week. However, “very low” skier visits on Tuesday and Wednesday last winter means the hill will be closed on those days, with the exception of Christmas and March Break.

“We want to ensure financial viability and are still in startup mode, so we are taking steps to ensure we have a solid business model and are here for the next 50 years,” resort GM Andy Foster said in a news release, noting the ski hill turns 49 this year.

Baldy will be open to private events on Tuesday and Wednesdays.

Foster says information on new runs for this season and cleaning up of existing runs will be announced soon. Adult season passes are now on sale for $299 for the first 1,000 passes.
