Pair of break-ins on Monday

The Penticton RCMP had their hands full Monday, investigating a pair of break and enters.

Residents of a home on South Main St. woke up Monday morning to realize they had been burgled while they slept.

Police were told that someone entered the home through a sliding glass about at about 7:30 a.m. A wallet, watch, change and cell phone were taken, according to police.

The crime remains under investigation.

That same morning, on Victoria Dr., a garage had been broken into. Several tools and a kids bike were taken from the unlocked garage, according to the homeowner.

Police had a 24-year-old male in custody on another matter and found items in his possession that had been stolen from the garage on Victoria Dr. He was charged with possession of stolen property.
