After several days of good weather for firefighting, conditions are deteriorating in the Cariboo Fire Centre.

An increase in fire behaviour and wildfire growth is expected, along with gusty winds.

Winds are forecast to gust up to 40km/h this evening. 

There is also a chance of lightning in the Cariboo, which could start new wildfires. Winds will pick up again Thursday, along with the lightning risk.

The major wildfires burning in the region, with the exception of the Gustafsen fire, are classified as out of control.
