Firefighters from Saanich found a surprise on their truck during a ferry ride home from fighting fires in the Cariboo.
Numerous thank-you notes were stuck to the firetruck Tuesday, from both adults and kids.
“Thank you for protecting our people and our land,” reads one note.
Another says: “Thank you for keeping our Canada safe & beautiful” and “We are very grateful for your hard work!”
The Saanich crew was returning from Williams Lake.
Deputy fire chief Dan Wood told CTV the signs were a pleasant surprise after a long, hard week.
Now, the messages hang in the Saanich firehall.
