Slow-speed pursuit

According to witnesses, the driver of the truck rammed a police car before taking off on foot up the side of a mountain.

Bill Frey-Mclean said the man took off on foot with police in hot pursuit at around 8:45 p.m.

Witnesses are telling Castanet police were involved in a slow-speed pursuit on Waterman's Hill near OK Falls Tuesday evening.

Sandra Isted told Castanet the vehicle being chased had lost both front tires, but the driver was still attempting to flee from police.

“He was going slow, with police vehicles behind with lights going,” said Isted. “I saw the second tire and a piece of the bumper come off, first front tire had already come off.”

Isted said the truck was driving only on front rims with two police cars in pursuit.

She said her husband was stuck in traffic around 8 p.m.
