RCMP were called to 43900 block of Progress Way on Friday July 21

Police have identified the man who was fatally shot in Chilliwack last Friday. 

On July 21, just before 9:00 a.m., the RCMP responded to a shooting on the 43900 block of Progress Way, to find 33-year-old Yee Hung Chin suffering from gunshot wounds. 

The man was transported to hospital, but succumbed to his injuries.  

Chin was known to police and police believe his murder was targeted.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team is seeking the public’s assistance in a search for witnesses that may have any information.

“While the motive for this homicide has yet to be determined, the investigation to date has yielded evidence to say that Mr. Chin’s murder was not random," said Cpl. Meghan Foster of IHIT.
