Body found in creek

Police said the body of a 52-year-old man was found submerged in Mill Creek near the intersection of Ellis Street and Buckland Avenue.

"Kelowna RCMP continue to work closely with the BC Coroners Service after the discovery of a deceased male," said Cpl. Jesse O'Donaghey.


ORIGINAL: Sunday 6:10 p.m.

A 52-year-old man was found dead in Mill Creek Sunday morning.

RCMP said a citizen noticed the body when they were out walking in the 1800 block of Marshall Street at about 5 a.m.

Staff Sgt. Calvin Roberts confirmed that the body has been identified and the death is not believed to be suspicious.

Residents living in the area told Castanet police were asking neighbours if they heard anything last night.

An autopsy will be conducted and next of kin has been notified.

Police are not releasing any further details about the individual.
