Vigil for murdered teen

A vigil was held in Burnaby Saturday night to remember a 13-year-old girl who was found dead in a local park earlier in the week.

The murder of Marrisa Shen is being investigated by a special RCMP unit.

Friends, families and strangers gathered in Central Park to pay their respects.

"She really liked Central Park, she'd go there by herself,” Sicy Liao, Shen's friend, told CTV News. “And she'd wear her earphones really loud. And if somebody called her name, maybe she can't hear."

“You could just tell the type of person that she was. She was such a lovely person," said Angelina, another friend.

Shen's body was found in a wooded area of Central Park just two hours after her family reported the teen missing.
Surveillance footage captured the teen walking into an apartment building on Tuesday evening before her body was discovered hours later in the park.
