The South East Major Crime Unit from Kelowna attended the scene Wednesday afternoon but no new information has been released regarding the origin of the bones.

Police believe they may be dealing with human remains.

Castanet will release new information as it becomes available.

Update Thursday A.M.

The bones uncovered at a site on 12th Avenue yesterday have been confirmed to be native and approximately 100 years old which deems the location to be an archeological site.

The site will be guarded and will remain undisturbed until the Provincial Archeology Branch is notified as well as the local Native Band.
