Rotary book sale running

The Penticton Okanagan Rotary Club’s 12th annual book sale is running until Saturday at the Penticton Curling Club.

"It's a great event, there are lots of books and the funds are going to Rotary projects," said president Jean Jacobsen.

Some of the funded projects include musical instruments for high school students, student of the month, Okanagan College bursaries and international projects such as their youth exchange program and adoption of villages in Bangladesh.

A wide range of books, fiction and nonfiction are for sale alongside CD’s and vinyl records.

Penticton resident Jane Moore, shopping with her two grandchildren, said she liked the variety.

"I just love books and it's great to come here and choose whatever your like," she said. "It's good for all interests."

On Saturday, organizers are running a big bag promotion.

People are invited to fill a large shopping bag with anything from coffee table books to CD's for only $40 on Saturday.

The sale will be running 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. until Saturday.
