How sweet is this festival!

It's a cultural explosion for the palate, mind and soul.

The 39th annual MapleFest, hosted by the Centre Culturel Francophone de L'Okanagan, returns this weekend.

MapleFest kicks off Friday night, March 31, with Festin, a convivial food-infused evening, at MontREAL food across from the Landmark buildings on Kirschner Road.

Chef and owner Mathew Morazain will prepare the meal. Tickets are $50.

Saturday, the event shifts outdoors around the Rotary Centre for the Arts.

More traditional French treats will be offered up, including poutine, maple cotton candy and maple taffy on snow.

Live music and entertainment will take place on the stage, plus various workshops, face painting, clowns, and new this year, an all day family circus workshop.

Activities run from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.

MapleFest wraps up Sunday with a traditional maple sugar shack brunch from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Laurel Packinghouse.

Tickets are $13.

The menu includes ham, hash browns, beans, scrambled eggs, bacon, maple tarts, pancakes, pea soup, coffee and orange juice.
