Penticton residents getting into spring cleaning in the coming weeks will have a week to put out large and bulky items alongside their garbage carts for pick-up.

Between Apr. 10 and 14, residents will be able to put up to two large items out by their regular garbage by 7 a.m. on their regular garbage day.

Those items must be at least three feet away from garbage and recycling carts, and can include furniture, large appliances and mattresses weighing no more than 90 kilograms or 200 pounds per item.

Renovation waste such as toilets, plumbing and doors and anything with a gas motor will not be accepted.

Electronics and small appliances are to go to the JC Bottle Depot at 200 Rosetown Avenue.
