No talk, all action

Why not spend this weekend creating a company?

If that sounds right up your alley, click Start Up Weekend right now. Startup Weekend is a global movement of active entrepreneurs who are learning the basics of founding startups and launching successful ventures.

Startup Weekends are where entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs can find out if startup ideas are viable. On average, half Startup Weekend’s attendees have technical or design backgrounds, the other half have business backgrounds.

Over the weekend, they'll feed you, power you with coffee and energy drinks and watch while you take that idea and create a company.

At the end of the weekend, you'll pitch your company to our panel of judges and some great prizes will be awarded.

Demo night is Sunday night and this is something you should definitely check out because that’s only 54 hours to create a company meaning ‘no talk all action’ and I know you will be impressed with the outcomes.

Get your tickets here.

Old Vines Restaurant at Quails Gate Winery has kicked it up notch to, I hope, end winter.

They have added a long table dinner Wednesday nights. Each week, they explore a different theme or region in the world. You can expect three family-style courses for $49 per person.

Also join them Sunday mornings for their Jazz Brunch Series. To reserve your table, call 250-769-2500.

I am learning more and more about agriculture these days and so many of my friends are doing year round gardening.

If you're like my friends, I encourage you to attend Seedy Saturday at the Westbank Lions Club this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Go buy, sell and trade seeds from a variety of vendors and community organizations.

The Dinosaurs Unearthed exhibition opened March 4 at the Okanagan Science Centre in Vernon and has been over the top popular.

This is something to consider with the kids spring break coming up.

This exhibit is questioning what we know about dinosaurs and they are being shown in a different kind of way.   I’m excited.

XChange is turning one this Saturday and you’re invited to the party.

Cam Colin will be celebrating with happy hour all day and live entertainment at night. They know this is going to be rockin', so they're offering a complimentary cab home with free overnight parking.

When you come back in the morning, they will also be taking care of you even more as they are offering their first ever brunch.

Congratulations and thanks in advance for the presents your offering.

This week in my video blog, I take a serious approach on how to protect your family no matter what the future holds.

Make it a great week!
